Stunning, beautiful home renovated with utmost attention to detail by Neil, the owner. The home is immaculate!,, fresh ample buffet breakfast . Lovely welcoming hosts. As New Yorkers ourselves, it was fun to hear they had been married in a famous church near Times Square

The warmth ,hospitality and kindness of the hosts.was exceptional.The breakfast was plentiful and Neil’s knowledge of the area and tips of where to visit really appreciated.

Always a lovely warm welcome. Such a great night sleep in a cosy room. Quiet but still close to everything!

Great location! The property was beautiful, rooms were immaculate and well furnished. We had everything we needed for our stay. Avril is wonderful! Breakfast was delicious and Neil was very friendly. He gave us some great tips about places to stop and they were as good as he said they were! I would highly recommend Riverdale House to anyone visiting Athlone.

The B&B was within walking distance of Sean's Bar, the primary reason we stayed in Athlone. Sean was a gracious host, and he gave us some excellent recommendations of places to visit when we left Athlone. The room was cozy, comfortable, and extremely clean.

Very welcoming owners who showed me around and were mortified that I wasn't going to sample their breakfast as I was leaving very early. They tried to offer me several breakfast options but I was fine with just a nice cup of tea in my room and setting off early. Ample off road parking and an easy 2 minute walk into Athlone to the restaurants, bars and castle.
What did you not like about your stay in the property or location?
My only dislike was that I was only staying the 1 night and would have liked to have had more time to stop an extra night or 2 to explore the area.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Riverdale House, beautiful accommodations, very attentive and helpful host, lovely breakfast with the most delicious homemade yogurt. Neil even checked the pressure and inflated my rental car tires…in the rain! Class!

They were so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay with them wonderful. The location within walking distance of the town was perfect.

Neil and Avril were wonderful hosts - very friendly and helpful with lots of detailed suggestions of things to see and do on our trip. Athlone is incredibly charming with many nice restaurants (special shout-out to The Fatted Calf) and things to see. We enjoyed our visit and will be back on our next visit to Ireland.

Our stay in the Riverdale House Athlone was a very enjoyable experience, from the moment of arrival to our departure. The Hosts were very friendly and attentive and made our stay very welcoming. The House/Room was very spotless and clean. I would definitely remend this B&B to anybody visiting Athlone.
